2. Common questions

Does the app need an internet connection?

Only for the daily competition, and only to start one and to send the result. Everything else works offline, including finishing a daily you have already started. If you never open the daily competition, the app never uses the network at all.

What happens to my data?

If you play on your own, nothing is collected and nothing is sent anywhere. If you enter the daily competition, we receive four things and they are all listed in the privacy policy.

My game disappeared.

It should not. The app saves each move as you make it, so a crash or a force quit should cost you at most the card you were playing. If a game did disappear, please tell us what you were doing, as that is a bug we want to fix.

3. The daily competition

My submission was rejected.

That should not happen to a game you actually played, and if it does it is a bug at our end rather than anything you did. Please tell us the day and which competition, and we will look at it.

Why can't I see today's table?

Because it is not finished. A table only becomes final when its day ends, so what you can read is yesterday's, and today's is waiting for you tomorrow.

This is deliberate. While a day is still running, every submission changes the order, so a position read at lunchtime is a position among whoever happened to finish first and it would keep moving under you all day. It would not be your result, so we do not show it as one. The day after you enter, the app opens with how you did.

When does a new daily start?

Midnight UTC, which is midnight in the UK and Ireland in winter and 1am in summer. The countdown in the app is the time left, and it comes from our server rather than from your phone's clock, so it is the same for everybody.

I finished a game but it never appeared on the table.

If you were offline when you finished, the app keeps the game and sends it when you are back on a connection. It will say so while it is waiting.

The one thing that stops it is midnight. A day closes at midnight UTC exactly and there is no extra time after it, because the table is worked out and fixed at that moment and a result arriving later would have nowhere to go. If that happens the app says so plainly, and the attempt is recorded as not finished. It is the same rule for everybody, and it means nobody's position depends on something that might still arrive.

I lost my attempt.

There is one attempt at each competition per day. Giving up a game you have started uses it, and so does letting the day end before you finish. The app warns you before either of those can happen. Just looking at the cards does not use it, so you can open a daily, see the hand and come back later.

Can I change my name?

Yes, at any time, in the app. Changing it does not change a name already shown on a past day's table.

Somebody's name should not be on the table.

Report it from the table in the app, or email us with the day and the name. We will remove it. Removing a name does not remove the score it was attached to, because that would make reporting a name a way to delete somebody's result.

I changed phone and my history is gone.

Your competition identity is kept in your device's keychain and does not move between devices, so a new phone starts a new identity with no history. Your old results stay on the tables they are already on.

How do I delete everything you hold about me?

There is a button in the app that erases your competition identity. It removes your identifier, your display name and your scores, and your past results disappear from the tables. It cannot be undone. You can also email us and we will do it. The privacy policy covers your other rights.
